Recently, I have been loving cb2, could you blame me? Their pieces are modern but with a twist. Unlike modern furniture, which usually has clean lines, cb2 loves curves giving their products a lot of edge.
This week I have been focusing a lot on mixing interior design styles (apparently I have been focusing on cb2 as well!). This is exactly what I was going for and it all started with me wanting to feature a design with checkerboard flooring.
The Color Palette
I have always loved copper and rust but I love it even more paired with the grey and white marble tiles, brown and gold. These colors together don’t look like they belong but together in a design they are a dream.
The Furniture and Design
When I first saw this rust color swivel chair I knew it would be the perfect touch to this space. I love that it brings color to the space and compliments the other pieces in this design. This chair brings out the warm tones of the wood console table and compliments all of the brass and gold accents.
The Martell Mirror also from cb2 is an absolute dream. This mirror was the perfect touch because it played well with the curves of the console table while also statsfying the need for gold accents.
What’s a modern design without a marble table? I love how much drama and edge this table brings to the design. At first I was afraid this would clash with the marble tiles but instead it only complimented the flooring. This also pairs seamlessly with the swivel accent chairs.
At first I wasn’t too sure about using vintage prints for this design because I didn’t to take away too much from the other pieces that were more modern but instead the prints tied the whole room together.
