When a client of mine told me she wanted an inspiring home office but also a place where she could kick back and relax, the lightbulb in my head went crazy. All I could think of was neutrals and a whole lot of abstract decorative objects. Having an office that was different and unique design was a priority.
The Inspiration
My client already had a couple of pieces she wanted to keep as a part of this design and they were all different shades of neutral. This is what inspired my decision to go with a neutral color palette. What’s more calming than neutrals?
The Color Palette
As mentioned, because my client wanted an office that was relaxing but also inspiring I chose to go with a neutral color palette. I added a touch of red to the design to tie together the desk area with the seating area. This also added more character to the design.
The Furniture and Decor
To add a more calming mood I chose to go with “comfy” fabrics for the furniture, especially the seating area, allowing for a place to relax. Adding different textures satisfied the need for a different and unique office. The Gala Reverse Roll Arm Chair is my favorite piece in this design. I love its unique shape and the Faux Mohair fabric makes this armchair a comfortable chair to sit and unwind.

The Bozzi Mongolian Sheepskin Ottoman was the perfect addition to the Gala Reverse Roll Arm Chair. The legs of the ottoman match the color of the armchair and the textured fabric adds character to the room but also a sense of comfort to the space.

To make this cozy corner even cozier I added the Lia Pendant Light with Shade. Its ivory faux silk shades add a serene feel to the design while the pleated slender folds add uniqueness to the room.

I added a lot of abstract decor to make this space inspiring and unique. Abstract art over the seating area was the perfect addition, which balanced out the serene and inspiring moods.

All the unique shaped decorative objects on the shelf made this room even more inspiring and unique. I added a few pops of red in this part of the design to not only add some more character, but I also wanted something to tie together the desk area and the seating area. Red was the perfect color due to the color which matched the armchair and office chair.
I hope you enjoyed this design as much as my client and I have!
