Bathroom renovations can be very expensive especially if you want it to have a more luxe feel. Elevating your bathroom doesn’t have to cost you thousands of dollars, instead follow these tips on how to take your bathroom from ordinary to extraordinary without breaking the bank!
Skip the Bathmats
That’s right, ditch the bathmats and go for a Turkish or Persian rug. Bathmats can make your bathroom look unkempt especially if it needs to be fluffed and let’s face it, most of them don’t sit still. They constantly have to be cleaned or replaced. Instead, opt for a gorgeous design made of wool which allows for the perfect bathmat substitution.

Add a Sitting Area
Of course, this is only possible if room allows but it’s a great way to make your bathroom feel more luxe. Adding an accent chair, ottoman and even a tiny accent table can make a huge difference. I love seeing a wood stool by a standing bathtub to add some flare to a bathroom. Many high-end bathrooms opt for a seating area in their bathroom because 1. They have room for it and 2. It just looks so dang good!
Switch Out That Old Mirror
It’s so simple but this can make a huge difference in a bathroom. Don’t settle for basic contractor-grade mirrors and replace them with something extraordinary, I promise you won’t regret it! It’s 2022 and we’re ditching the medicine cabinets and adding a mirror with flare. I promise you won’t miss the storage and your bathroom with thank you for making it more luxe.
Speaking of Storage
If you can’t make it look pretty in one way or another, store it. Stuff like mouthwash, shaving cream, and toothpaste don’t belong by the sink and should instead be stored under the sink. Things like cotton swabs, cotton pads, cotton balls, etc can be ordered on the vanity but make sure it’s in a beautiful container.
I personally love glass canisters, they aren’t very expensive (especially if you opt for acrylic vs glass) and they can make your bathroom look high-end. I love adding my Epsom salts to a bigger canister and ditching the ugly not so aesthetically pleasing packaging. You could also go with apothecary jars if you want a fancy look for your bathroom!
Change out the shampoo and conditional bottles and out the product in aesthetically pleasing bottles; don’t forget to do the same thing with the handsoap!
Bring in Brass
Brass is seen a lot in high-end luxe bathrooms so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change the knobs on the vanity or even add some brass with a soap dish or liquid soap dispenser. You could go as far as replacing the faucets but just remember, that’s going to cost you!

Upgrade Your Lighting
Chang out those old sconces or opt for pendants instead on either side of the mirror. Add a glamorous chandelier above a standing tub! Lighting is sometimes overlooked but it makes a massive difference if you want to elevate your bathroom.

Add Décor
Add a bath tray to your bathtub or some greenery to your vanity. Definitely don’t forget about florals and a jaw-dropping vase to put them in! Recently, I have been loving adding a pedestal with a vase and florals or greenery sitting on top.
Add Artwork
Artwork in the bathroom is often overlooked because what’s the point? I promise you there is a point! Artwork can make your bathroom feel more extravagant and the type of artwork you chose to include can set the mood for your bathroom.
I hope these tips help transform your bathroom!
Until next time!
