Add Plants and Flowers
One of my favorite things to add to a kitchen are real herbs. It’s a great way to elevate your kitchen and it’s also functional. I love adding flowers to a kitchen, whether they’re real or faux, in a large vase in the middle of the kitchen counter or island. Dwarf olive trees make the perfect island centerpiece.
Utilize Display Containers and Jars
Using containers and jars to store food or cooking oils is the best way to elevate your kitchen. I also love doing this because it is very functional as well. What’s better than function and beauty? Absolutely nothing if you ask me!
Pendant Lights, Sconces, and Chandeliers
Lighting in your kitchen makes a great impact on the overall look and feel of the space. Changing out the can light and put in pendant lights above the island can make your kitchen look like it’s been newly renovated. One thing I have been seeing a lot recently is adding chandeliers above the island instead of pendants. Doing this to your kitchen takes it to the next level, especially with the addition of Chandeliers. I saw Mallory do this from @mallorynikolaushome on Instagram and I fell in love immediately. When it comes to sconces you can add them anywhere, above the window, on either side of the range, and even above open shelves.

Put Away the Appliances
Leaving out small appliances not only makes your kitchen look dated but it can also make it look crowded. Put away your small appliances where they can be easily accessible but also out of sight. This makes a huge difference especially if you want a kitchen with a high-end look, and not to mention, you’ll have more room to cook.
Add Art
Adding art is the easiest way to elevate any space. When you first think about art in the kitchen, still art of fruit and vegetables probably comes to mind. Placing this kind of art in a kitchen isn’t a bad idea but, you can do better! A beautiful landscape image or a print of florals looks just as amazing in a kitchen. You can also dress that up with a picture light if you’re extra like me.

Add a Beautiful Rug
Adding a runner in the kitchen is a major trend right now and I can see why. My favorite way to do this is by adding a Persian rug, this is because a kitchen can be solid with not many prints (besides the countertops). Adding a Persian rug is a great way to add some color and character to a kitchen.

Update Cabinets
Instead of replacing cabinets, which could cost you hundreds of dollars, paint them! You can update the hardware or remove cabinets altogether and go for open shelves. Open shelves in the kitchen are a huge trend this year and are perfect if you’re trying to achieve a modern look. My all-time favorite way to elevate the kitchen with cabinets its going with glass doors. This look is so elegant, and beautiful, and makes your kitchen look like it came out of a magazine.
Mix-match Cabinets and Island Colors
This is another one of my favorite kitchen trends. I love the look of this because it separates the cabinets and island and makes it look like they’re separate but cohesive at the same time. This is the perfect way to achieve a high-end kitchen look. Although this is a current trend, I don’t see it going out of style anytime soon.
