I love the combination of brown and green using wood, green fabric, and green and/or brown accents. This design gives you a very old-time feel but is modern at the same time. There is a perfect mixture of traditional and modern furniture and home accents.
The Inspiration
Not much of a story to tell here. There wasn’t one thing that inspired this design but I will tell you that the design stemmed from one small piece. I love this credenza from cb2. I had it saved for a while with the intention to use it in a design. My favorite part about this piece is the fluted doors, I thought they paired perfectly with the sofa and accent chairs. I knew that I wanted to add color to the furniture so that is why I went with green accent chairs.

The Color Palette
For this design, I wanted to use gold, brown, and green colors. I wanted a more earthy feel to the same. Especially for a study, doing more earthy tones makes the room more vibrant.

The Furniture and Décor
I love the look of this sofa, it is very traditional and looks luxurious. Because the sofa is very traditional I decided to pick more modern accent chairs and a coffee table to balance out the large traditional piece. The rug in this design is the most perfect match. It has lighter brown and green colors which lightens up the design and keeps it from being too moody; I was not looking to go for a moody vibe with this design.

I wanted to have green accents in this design and I accomplished that by adding greenery to the space. After finding the bigger pieces in this design i.e sofa, accent chairs, etc I thought it needed a little more color. One of my favorite color combinations is gold/brown and green and greenery was the perfect touch. The gold accents took this design to the next level.
